(1) Different corrosion resistance: non-magnetic stainless steel has relatively high corrosion resistance; magnetic stainless steel has relatively low corrosion resistance. Stainless steel with high nickel content often shows that it cannot be magnetized, while stainless steel with low nickel content often shows that it is easy to be magnetized. Stainless steel with high nickel content has relatively high corrosion resistance, and stainless steel with low nickel content is relatively low.
(2) Different hardening: non-magnetic stainless steel is difficult to be hardened; magnetic stainless steel may be hardened.
(3) Different carbon content: Non-magnetic stainless steel: austenitic stainless steel. Both the 200 series and 300 series are non-magnetic, while the magnetic stainless steel belongs to the martensitic steel. The 400 series also says that stainless steel belongs to this class.
